1982 History
ELECTROCABLES C.A. begins their industrial operations in Guayaquil, Republic of Equator with production lines for the manufacturing of electric conductors with cutting edge technology for the era, transforming it since their beginnings into the most modern plant in the country.
The production lines that ELECTROCABLES C.A. began their industrial operations were:
· Line of stranding of copper, aluminum and aluminum alloys
· Line of copper stranding for fine wires
· Laying line for flexible cables
· Twisting line for conductors of 7, 19 and 37 wires
· Twisting line for multi-conductor cables
· Extrusion line for conductors up to size 10 AWG
· Extrusion line for conductors up to size 600 MCM
· Line for making of rolls
· Line of reel re-coiler
· Laboratory equipment for control of quality
NEW PRODUCTS:
ELECTROCABLES incorporates to the market the conductors type THW and those of aluminum alloy 6201-T81.
1990 History
Incorporation of the line of stranding of aluminum wire rod and their alloys, brand Niehoff, with latest technology, controlled by C.P.U. (Control Process Unit), with high-speed and performance (1900 m. /min.) and with self-diagnosis of faults.
Incorporation of high-speed (240m/min.) twisting line, tubular type, for conductors of 7 wires of copper, aluminum and aluminum alloys.
NEW PRODUCTS:
ELECTROCABLES C.A. as leader of the sector introduces once more time to the market a new product: Aluminum Conductors Reinforced with Steel A.C.S.R. of high mechanical stress.
1991 History
Installation of a magnet wires Plant for the production of round copper magnet wires with a machine of 8 production lines for sizes up to 30 AWG; including a sophisticated laboratory equipment to guarantee the quality of their products.
NEW PRODUCTS:
For the first time in Ecuador are manufactured copper magnet wires, the same ones that for their high level of quality, become in the first product of export of the company.
1992 History
ELECTROCABLES opens its frontiers beginning its exports to countries of Center and South America.
1994 History
Incorporation of a high speed Laying line for flexible cables, with leading edge technology, controlled by C.P.U.
1995 History
Incorporation of a line for making rolls, controlled by C.P.U.
Incorporation of a re-coiler line, double coiler, controlled by C.P.U.
Incorporation of a line of double extrusion with automatic, high-speed coilers, controlled by C.P.U., with self-diagnosis.
Incorporation of a high-speed line for laying unilay conductors, controlled by C.P.U.
Incorporation of a totally computerized line for production of ultra fine magnet wires up to 38 AWG (0.10 mm of diameter); dispatched in bi-core reels.
NEW PRODUCTS:
ELECTROCABLES C.A. begins the production of unilay conductors, the new generation of conductors to disposition of the country.

1996 History
Incorporation of the state-of-the-art in stranding technology: Multi-wire copper stranding machine for 8 lines with robotic coiler with automatic load and unload
Incorporation of a robotic basket in the stranding lines.
Incorporation of meshing lines for the production of coaxial and control conductors
Complete renovation of all the laboratory equipment, thanks to the acquisition of new of high technology
NEW PRODUCTS:
- Again ELECTROCABLES C.A. faithful to their development policy, leadership, innovations and improvements in benefit of the electric sector; introduces in Ecuador the conductors type THHN and THWN (nylon coated) revolutionizing this way the electric construction market.
- ELECTROCABLES C.A. introduces their line of coaxial cables type RG-58, RG-59/U, RG-6/U and RG-11/U; insulated with polyethylene expanse or cellular, aluminum tape with copolymer, shielding of red or tinned copper and PVC jacket.
1997 History
Incorporation of lines of high-speed stranding for cables of 7 wires of copper, aluminum and aluminum alloys, round and compacts, controlled by CPU.
Incorporation of the extrusion line more sophisticated and with greater technology in South America with: Twisting, taping and 3 extrusion steps, everything in tandem; with winders and automatic double coilers; totally computerized, with controls of quality to the product in a permanent and on-line continuous way.
Incorporation of the fourth high-speed line of stranding of flexible cables, controlled by CPU.
Incorporation in tandem with line of extrusion of a robotic machine for making, packing and palletized of rolls.
NEW PRODUCTS:
In 1997, ELECTROCABLES includes among its extensive range of products the following:
- Anti-fraud conductors: Of great usefulness for the installations, mainly to eliminate energy robbery.
- Conductors THHN and THWNin sizes up to 1000 MCM
- Conductor XHHW insulated in cross-linked polyethylene
- Compact wired conductors.
